Experience
I have taught math at all grade levels to children, teenagers, and adults. My teaching includes math SAT, GED and entrance exam preparation. I like children and have a therapeutic personality. So I have very good rapport with most of my students. I am an able and articulate mathematician (GRE Verbal – 740, Math 710). And I’m good at explaining things in a way that students at different levels and of different abilities can understand. My advanced training in psychology gives me insight into the anxiety and lack of self-confidence that often cause poor performance in math. I use a variety of techniques to help my students overcome these problems. My career as a math tutor and teacher spans 20 years. During this period, I have taught in public and private schools and have tutored many students, with exceptional results. My students’ math grades go up. With my tutoring, most failing students become passing students and many continue doing well in math without a tutor. I am available for in-home tutoring in Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, and Manhattan - and online tutoring anywhere. See http//:msilvermanmathtutoring.com.
