I am currently a Systems Manager at a Fortune 500 company where I code, teach, and mentor other employees within the industry. I have coded many application using Java, Oracle SQL, Hyperion Essbase, JavaScript and HTML, which are currently being used to help analyze financial data which is then reported up the CEO of the company for future business planning. I have also been designated at my previous employer to write applications as per client specifications. I then held training classes to teach each one of the employees in the company on how to use the software. I have been asked to contribute to a weekly newspaper, distributed within the company, which taught our employees tips and tricks of how to use a computer efficiently and safely. Because of my current position, I have also had the opportunity to take on interns, some of whom were hearing impaired, and to provide career coaching advice, buildup interviewing skills, create powerful resumes, and train them on how to code using SQL and Java. Why I am Qualified to Teach the Subjects above: At my current position as a manager, although i manage projects and people, i also still do quite a bit of development work myself. I have developed many large scale applications using Java, Oracle SQL, and many other technologies (i.e, JavaScript, HTML, Essbase, etc) for financial reporting purposes. I have taught many interns, entry level, and experienced developers on how to code using PL/SQL and how to properly debug, and maintain it. What tricks you can use and what style of SQL programming is appropriate to help you keep your code flexible so that it may be built upon in the future. These are standards that many large scale companies use and expect of their employees. I have had many opportunities to hire interns, full-time employees as well as consultants. I knew the type of skills employers are looking for and i know the type of questions they ask. I'll help you prepare for that interview and give every opportunity i possibly can to nail that internship or full-time job. Since i have conducted many interviews myself one-on-one as well as in groups with other management (i.e. other managers and VPs), i know the type of questions that can be asked and what employers are looking for. I can provide a mock interview to help you get a bit more comfortable with the process. Remember that being interviewed is a skill like any other. All you need is practice and the right tools to get you comfortable in that type of setting. Interviewing and resume writing go hand in hand. When a large company has an opening, they often get hundreds, if not thousands of applicants submit their resumes as we have had. In order to filter through hundreds of candidates for a position, i had to learn how to filter through the resumes quickly and reject or invite for an interview based on a 30 second resume scan. I can review your resume and help you to rewrite it if necessary to make sure you do not make those common mistakes that may be preventing you from getting that interview. I have taught people of all ages through my own business as well as through my work on how to use computers. I have taught kids, adults and the elderly on how to use shortcuts to get things done faster on their computer, how to stay safe and protect yourself as well as your computer while surfing the internet, how to avoid scams, how to perform things like closing an application even though it is stock and you're unable to X-out, how to keep your computer running fast and bug free, how to conduct proper research and how search engines work and much, much more.
