Experience/Qualifications: Introductory Statistics Tutor, September 2011 – Now Dolciani Math Learning Center (DMLC) at Hunter College (CUNY), NY, NY • Responsible for having an excellent grasp of all the material covered in the course of introductory statistics. • Responsible for answering any specific material-related and general course-related questions that the students had. • Provided clear and concise explanations when a student needed addition help. • Facilitated the learning process of students by providing additional problems for them to work on. • Provided examples of real-world applications of basic statistics theorems. • Helped to improve the students’ problem-solving strategies. • Worked with small groups as well as with individual students. • Assisted with some routine office work (organizing paperwork, preparing working materials for students, etc.). Took Stat 113 course in Spring 2011 Semester and finished with a grade of A+. Took and successfully passed a tutoring exam for Dolciani Math Learning Center (DMLC) at Hunter College (CUNY)before the beginning of Fall 2011 semester. As a result, became a tutor at DMLC. This upcoming Summer 2013 semester at Hunter College will be my 6th semester of tutoring introductory statistics (stat 113) at the DMLC of Hunter College. I enjoy teaching and explaining, and find that my tutoring strategies are very helpful to the students. I often meet my students after the end of semester, and am delighted to know of their success in class. I know that it is the result of our mutual efforts and study strategies.
