Experience
I was a tutor with 1-on-1 Academic Tutors and with Success Stories Learning Center. I tutored students in math, reading and writing. Currently, I also work with a company called All About Learning where we teach basic engineering using LEGOs and Injoy 7, a program that marries the arts (STEP & dance) with technology (Web design and DIY projects). At New York Cares, I helped third graders gain confidence in reading by reading along with them and encouraging them to learn new words. I also helped high school students who were mentally disabled learn how to cook. I love teaching others new things. It warms my heart when I'm teaching someone a subject and to then watch them understand the concept. It's beautiful. I also love learning about my students and understanding their strengths and weaknesses in order to teach them better.
