My previous tutoring experience has consisted of teaching grade-school level writing and reading comprehension, primarily with children ages 7-10. I have less frequent tutoring experience in social studies and geography, although I am highly proficient in these subjects as well. I enjoy being a tutor because it is so rewarding to see a student's confidence increase and know that I have contributed to that. Aside from my familiarity with the aforementioned subject areas, I have also taken a number of child and adolescent mental health studies courses in my undergraduate career, which centered strongly around child development. I am familiar with how children learn from a developmental psychology perspective, and this is helpful is designing teaching plans.
