I have been an active performer and recording artist with a specialization in tango. I have won may auditions for symphony orchestras and shows, and I am, as a performer, used to the pressure of having to give your best in one shot. I love to take the anxiety out of the audition process and focus on the skills and preparation that will help your kid achieve confidence going into the audition or testing room. My 3 kids were all accepted into the main Performing Arts High Schools in New York City, and all of them prepared their auditions with me. One of them has gone on to graduate from McGIll University with a degree in music. When he was a teenager studying at La Guardia HSPA, we spent many many hours in my home studio learning Ableton Live and other software, and how to record. We even scored three commercials together, and he did most of the work! Now he loves to produce hip hop and plays jazz. I am very experienced in recording video and audio. I can teach your kid to use the computer to play along, study, practice, and eventually prepare a taped audition if called for. As an experienced (and Latin Grammy wining) record producer, I've learned the skill of making the musician feel comfortable with the process and giving their best performance in front of a microphone. As it has become more common to take recorded auditions for admission into college, I can put this experience to work to prepare your son or daughter to show their best work. Is it fun? Yes! Is it hard work? Yes! If your kid is considering going to a specialized music highs school or is ready to apply to music in college, that shows the right ingredient to be successful.
