Experience

I have one full year's worth of tutoring experience at the college level. I tutored numerous peers as they wrote essays for a wide variety of classes in the English and Humanities department. I received 5's in AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP U.S. Government, AP World History, and AP Environmental Science, and a 2270 (now 1520) on my SAT, with a near perfect score of 790 on my math section. I love tutoring because I genuinely believe all students have the ability to write and read at an academic level, they just have to be given the right tools! I try and create a safe and inclusive environment to help my students overcome academic barriers and get excited about the subject's they're taking!

When I'm not tutoring you can find me writing short-- and occasionally long-- stories (one of which was recently published in a literary journal), reading about a book per week, and watching old movies. I'm upbeat and encouraging, but I also like my students to feel challenged by the material I give them. It's in this space that we learn and grow best!
