I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in Education, focusing on Instructional Technology. For more than six years now, I've been teaching students from fourth through twelfth grade in language arts and in math. I've worked with students of different ages and abilities, and have learned to quickly discern each student's individual learning style, as well as their strengths and abilities, and their challenges. I have had the opportunity to work with some students up to their graduation, and that has been a source of great joy and satisfaction. My favorite method of teaching in the classroom is through projects that make use of real-life situations and examples. In my experience, this has been essential in helping students see that what they are learning in school is valuable to them outside of the classroom. It also aids them in developing critical thinking skills and perseverance, which will help them long after they have successfully completed tutoring with me. I'm available to tutor students in general elementary and middle school subjects, and in high school or college level English subjects. I have also had positive outcomes tutoring students as they are preparing for standardized exams like the SSAT, ISEE, and others.
