I earned my undergraduate degree in political science and government from Brigham Young University and graduate degrees in performance studies and rhetorical studies from Hofstra University. I have more than ten years of experience in teaching and tutoring and I love helping students expand their academic horizons. I currently tutor a wide variety of subjects, including elementary math, IB theatre HL, creative writing, anatomy, IB theatre SL, geology, reading, IB theory of knowledge, government, writing, pre-algebra, introduction to poetry, essay editing, public speaking, journalism, literature, world religions, philosophy, English grammar and syntax, political science, world history, American history, AP art history, AP European history, AP human geography, AP U.S. government & politics, comparative literature, AP world history, earth science, geography, social studies, and related courses. I also offer homework support and help students prepare for upcoming standardized exams such as the SAT and ACT. My favorite subjects to tutor are public speaking, performing arts, debate, and writing. However, I find there are aspects of these found in all of the other subjects I tutor. I love helping to promote an interest in culture and the arts in my students and I find this can make many of the subjects more accessible to them as well.
