I'm a tutor who is based out of New York City, where I enjoy gardening, writing, and exploring the city when I'm not in the classroom working with my students. I have my bachelor's degree in English from Reed College, and my PhD in English from Drew University. As a tutor, I'm able to work with students in English as a second language, reading, writing, and other English-related coursework. As a tutor, I believe in mixing up my teaching approach depending upon the needs of my students. I strive to instill confidence in my students to ensure that they have long and successful academic careers, even after we stop working together. I've worked with many students in the past, and know the major problem areas that can plague students. I have taught a beginning and advanced composition course at Passaic County Community College, advised and tutored students at Marymount, ran the writing part of the CAP program at Pace University, and more. I'm extremely passionate about helping my students get the most out of the time they devote to their education. I'm excited to help new students reach their goals and achieve academic excellence!
