Experience
I know when I was a student, my thoughts on arithmetic and material science was a result of an underlying aversion and dread of the subject in center school. I worried about getting called on and didn't have confidence in the subject matter. A curveball was tossed my way in the 10th grade, where I revealed a beginning enthusiasm for material science. After reading A Brief History of Time and understanding that math and material science were so inseparably connected, it occurred to me that I needed to take in more about the field. It's my hope through working with students that I can help them develop the same love of learning for the subject. I'm a former Physics teacher at the high school level. Currently, I'm a graduate student and studying math. Among the subjects I enjoy teaching students are Algebra 1-3/4, Calculus 1-3, Geometry, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Trigonometry, Multivariable Calculus, Finite Mathematics, Pre-Algebra, AP Calculus AB, and others. When I'm not busy with teaching students or studying, I love to drink coffee and settle in with a good book whenever I can. I also love the show Columbo, and enjoy watching old episodes of it.
