Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
University of Florida - Bachelors, History
I have experience teaching at the high school and college level. I'm someone who loves education and am always eager to share my experiences with anyone interested in improving their knowledge in a wide range of skills. During my time working as a teacher, I've helped students master a number of subjects including ACT and SAT test prep, English as a Second Language, essay writing, critical reading, history, and social studies. I currently hold a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in history, as well as a minor in Asian studies. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Xi'an, China, to learn more about the language and culture, while teaching English to high school students. I've also worked as a volunteer teacher for a non-profit organization based out of New York City, where I helped students from disadvantaged backgrounds prepare for college entrance exams. I believe that the best way to help someone succeed is to first get to know their personality so that you're able to tailor lessons to suit their learning style. I try to make my classroom sessions as energetic and enjoyable as possible by including a lot of hands-on activities that get students moving around and actively participating.
