Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
Education
University of Rochester - Bachelors, Neuroscience
Experience
Born in Toronto, I attended the University of Rochester to earn my bachelor's in neuroscience. I also graduated with a minor in French and in music. I worked as a volunteer with the university's Medical Emergency Response Team, played on the Varsity Field Hockey team, and studied at the Eastman School of Music. I served as a teacher's assistant for the Biology and Organic Chemistry Lab, where I realized my love of teaching. Currently, I work at the AmeriCorps-affiliated Blue Engine program as an algebra teaching assistant in the Bronx. I offer private tutoring to students in various math and science disciplines, as well as in French. I can explain complex concepts in simple terms, allowing my students to ask questions as needed to ensure optimal learning. I know that each student has a unique learning style that calls for different teaching methods. I use a flexible tutoring style that is adjustable to the student's academic goals, personality, and weaknesses. When I'm not tutoring students in math and language, I regularly practice yoga at home and in classes. I love to create, whether I am painting, playing piano, or drawing. I also own a motorcycle. I plan on continuing my education in medical school.
