Experience
I am currently enrolled at Columbia University, where I am working towards my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Before entering my current graduate program, I studied architecture, as well as Swedish and Russian. I love education because I have a passion for learning new things, especially in subjects related to science and humanities. I believe that the best way to teach a student is to first connect with them. For this reason, I like to try and understand their needs and expectations before I design my lessons. That way, I'm better equipped to come up with customized material that suits their strengths while helping them overcome their weaknesses in the classroom. I believe that everyone has the capacity to be an excellent student, and that there's no such thing as a wrong question. Part of being a student is applying your knowledge in a real-world context and figuring out what is and isn't right. Throughout my experience as a tutor, I've been able to work with people from different backgrounds and age groups. Along with foreign languages, I've helped people improve their English, math, and essay writing, as well as prepare for standardized tests like the SAT and the ACT. When I'm not teaching, I like playing music and participating in visual arts.
