I believe every student learns differently, and the tutors have to be aware of this to help students successfully. When I tutor a student, I focus on teaching to the student's learning style and teaching material in ways that students can relate to. Sometimes breaking a concept down into simpler explanations that's not in any textbook is just what a student needs to fill gaps in their understanding. I tutor computer science, including C++, Java, operating systems, and data structures. When I have free time, I enjoy recording and playing music.
