Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY
University of California-San Diego - Bachelors, Ethnic Studies
As a teacher and tutor, I don't believe my job is to give my students the answers. I believe it is my duty to equip them with the tools and techniques they need to solve problems and think critically themselves. I also believe we are all different, we think and learn differently, we struggle with different things and we have different strengths. When I am tutoring, I change my lesson plans to each student's individual needs. I also encourage them to communicate and ask questions often. I strive to maintain a learning environment where my students can transform and become motivated to succeed. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies. I recently started working towards my Master in Near Eastern Studies and I am hoping to finish with a Ph.D. in History. In addition to academic knowledge, I also have life experience. I have taught Arabic at many different schools, as well as tutored non-Arabic-speaking students in Arabic writing and conversation. In addition, I have taught one-on-one essay-writing workshops and tutored elementary and middle school students in writing and reading. I believe my entire academic and life experiences give me the leading edge needed to be a great tutor! I would love to help you or your student with literature, English, Arabic, history, and more!
