I am a professional tutor with extensive experience in essay and creative writing, grammar, and reading comprehension. I also work with professional authors helping them refine their manuscripts. I currently serve with the faculty of a graduate program in Writing, and was a faculty member of Purchase College in the bachelor's writing program and at the New School in their MFA writing program. I have an insatiable curiosity and yearning for knowledge and enjoy learning more about subjects in preparation for tutoring. I enjoy the opportunity to discover new things from my students. In addition to reviewing quality essay construction and execution, I also provide a series of questions to encourage writers to delve deep into their ideas to be able to fully engage with their subject and readers. I have had success with this approach and its ability to produce a more complete project. I also work on students' writing structure and flow. I graduated from The Dalton School and Wesleyan University, with extensive experience in the writing workshops at both colleges. My own writing has won the GLAAD Prize, a nationally recognized scholarship award. I am also an artist in theater and have won awards in that arena as well. My hobbies and interests include reading, writing, music, theater, hiking, and travel.
