ExperienceCity & Guilds 7303 Certificate for teaching a foreign language.
I have been teaching privately in England for several years. I started teaching at Queen Mary University of London as assistant to the Italian teacher and then continued privately.
I'm more than happy to teach children. I often teach children whose parents are Italian but have been living abroad for a long time and are slowly losing the language.
HobbiesI'm an actress, an aeronautical engineer, a traveller.
I love teaching my language and thanks to my acting studies in voice and speech I can particularly focus on your pronunciation.
Also, because of my wide spectrum of interests and life experiences, I can tailor the lessons according to your taste, interests and needs.

I have been studying with Glenda for the past seven months after many years of taking random group classes here and there in NYC. Since meeting Glenda, my Italian has improved immeasurably. My husband is Italian, which is why I'm learning, and he and his family are so impressed with how much I've learned and how quickly! Glenda quickly understood which areas were most important for me to focus on, and drilled into those--while keeping lessons fresh with new ideas and concepts. She's incredibly patient and thorough, and rarely let's me get away with a mistake :) She's also lots of fun to work with, and a very interesting person on a personal level too, so I look forward to every class.
It is rare to meet someone like Glenda D. She has a passion for both her subject, Italian, and for teaching. She has more patience than a saint and genuinely feels your success is hers. She takes her role as teacher seriously, though with warmth and humor, and expects her students to do the same. She is simply a wonderful teacher. My proficiency has increased enormously in the course of a year. When I travel to Italy I am often complimented when I speak. If you want to learn proper Italian, contact her. JM
Glenda has been an amazing teacher! Not only is she an effective teacher but she is a pleasure to work with. In just about a year she has gotten me from very little Italian to quite conversational...something my Italian husband's family appreciates for sure! I'm finally able to communicate with them and am just getting better and better each week. Glenda is by far the best Italian teacher I've had so far - she works with you and also challenges you/adjusts the lessons based on your needs. For instance, when we realized my reading/grammar and speaking skills were getting better but not my audio comprehension, she started creating and sending me weekly audio exercises each week. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
I have been working with Glenda for the past year and would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn or work on their Italian. I have taken Italian in several different settings and lessons with Glenda are my absolute favorite and more importantly have been the most effective. She is extremely thoughtful in planning the lessons and assigning homework. She always centers in on my weaknesses and areas for improvement and combines those with my interests to create lessons that are enjoyable and also challenging in the best way. Glenda is also really funny and kind -- I can't recommend her highly enough!
Where do I start? I have been meeting with Glenda for about 5 months and finally I don't have to be embarrassed to tell people that I'm an Italian/American that speaks no Italian. Since junior high I have always had a very tough time learning a language. I not only warned Glenda about this little fact but also that I lack patience. Apparently this did not seem to phase her because I'm still her student lol. What I really like about her style of teaching is that not only does she know the Italian language perfectly but she explains it the way you would learn your native language in school. She comes prepared with materials, set lessons, exercises, and a follow up email about the weeks previous lesson. Glenda makes each and every class fun. I look forward to my lessons with her each week. Not only am I finally learning my families language but it also provides a nice break from work and the mayhem of everyday life in NYC. Word to the wise! I highly recommend that you do the assigned exercises and student. She will know if you were slacking off and is not afraid to point it out. Thank god because I am a slacker
Glenda has been teaching my seven-year-old son for almost a year and I can't say enough good things about her. He was a complete beginner but now has a big Italian vocabulary as well as an understanding of grammar. I can't believe how far he's come! She gets what kids like and need so every lesson is fun and doesn't feel like school work. She also adjusts to his moods and interests. Glenda is always professional and, every week, prepares a review and a little homework assignment. On a personal note, she is a sweet and interesting person and we both look forward to her visit. Don't hesitate to contact Glenda; you won't be sorry! :-)
Glenda helped me so much with my Italian! And a lot of the time we just had conversations, which I think might have helped the most out of everything. She challenged me without pushing me, and because of her amazing teaching I got a 4 on my AP Italian test. Grazie mille, Glenda!
She is the one of best teacher I ever had for Italian language. She always prepares text for me. Very enthusiastic, very polite. She is very accommodate for time. For me like busy person, it is very convenient. I always like to have a conversation with her in Italian. She knows my level of language and try to stretch my ability. I reccomendable people to try her lesson.
