Experience
Through my experience as a tutor over the past eight years, I've leaned on the "supported challenge" model to engage my elementary, middle, and high school students. I've also delighted in passing on my enthusiasm for learning to my students as they become more invested in their own progress. I graduated from Washington University with bachelor's degrees in Spanish and international studies. Now, I'm a fellow in a graduate-level program centered on civic leadership and problem-solving across various sectors. As a tutor, I'm proud to offer my students guidance with a wide range of classes, including reading, writing, essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, English, social studies, geography, Spanish, AP Spanish Literature and Culture, PSAT writing skills, PSAT Critical Reading, American history, AP United States History, SAT critical reading, SAT mathematics, SAT verbal, SAT writing, college essay writing, and SAT subject tests in Spanish and literature. I believe that one of my strengths as a tutor is demystifying standardized tests and helping students learn the strategies that may be used to befuddle them. When I'm not working with students, I enjoy ballet and modern dance, canoeing, hiking, reading, whitewater rafting, and anything to do with the theater.
