Experience
I am currently enrolled at the City College of New York's Grove School of Engineering, where I am working toward a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. I have spent time as a tutor for my peers in individual and group settings. I also learned a lot about how to tutor various learning styles by participating in study groups. I begin with each student by establishing an understanding of his or her skill level in the subject at hand. I ensure that students have a solid understanding of the fundamentals, and then build upon that base. I enjoy teaching students by showing them how abstract concepts apply to real-world situations. I put myself in my students' place, and try to teach them through breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps. I rarely teach my students shortcuts, because understanding the entire process of solving a particular type of problem is vital to mastering a concept. This also helps students develop problem-solving and analytical thinking skills that apply to a variety of situations and subjects. I can help students in English, all levels of calculus, multivariable calculus, physics, linear algebra, and AP Calculus AB and BC. In my spare time, I enjoy lifting weights, playing guitar, and playing video games.
