Experience
I am an experienced teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in history and French from the College of the Holy Cross, and a Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts. My work experience includes substitute teaching, paraprofessional work, and as a teacher of French and social studies. In the summer, I work with American high school students at a summer camp in Nice, France, where I teach French and organize trips and activities. In my opinion, having fun is integral to the success of my students, and excessive pressure can lead to crippling self-doubt and stress. Therefore, I always keep this in mind when teaching, promoting a light, positive atmosphere. I like to bring current events and other relevant comparisons into my lessons as well, using familiarity and context to make the concepts relatable and the material retainable.Although my primary subjects are history and French, I offer tutoring in SAT verbal and writing test preparation as well as literature. Other available tutoring subjects include public speaking, religious studies, English, and essays. Some of my hobbies are performing and recording music, watching sports, and cooking, especially French food.
