I earned my bachelor's degree in English literature from Hunter College. I've tutored students of all ages and in many different subjects. I've tutored students at local schools who were learning English, as well as immigrants preparing for the naturalization exam. I am passionate about the English language, literature, and writing. One of the things I most enjoy about being a tutor is having the opportunity to share my enthusiasm and knowledge with those who are struggling with their studies. I take the time to get to know my students. Learning about their backgrounds, hobbies, and interests allows me to connect with them and tailor their tutoring sessions more fully. My goal, as a tutor, is to help students achieve academic success and to bolster their confidence. When students become more confident in their inherent academic abilities, they often see a correlating rise in grades. I tutor a variety of courses, including reading, writing, essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, English, and associated AP courses. I also enjoy helping students prepare for exams such as the SAT, PSAT, SSAT, and Regents.During my free time, I enjoy writing, reading biographies and novels, traveling, hiking, and baking.
