Private tutor in Brooklyn, NY

Education

M.A. English Literature, Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA: 2011 B.A. English, Chapman University, Orange, CA: 2008

Experience

First and foremost, I love reading and writing. It's why I do what I do. Over the years, books have given me perspectives I could never have dreamed existed and writing has given me the ability to express my own. I have a Master's degree in English Literature. I have taught full-time at the college level, I have classroom experience teaching K - 12 and I have been a private tutor since 2012 working with students from public as well as exclusive independent schools. Working one-on-one is my favorite method of teaching and what I've found to be the most rewarding for both student and teacher.

Hobbies

After language arts, I have two major passions: music and sports. I try to keep up new bands & artists as well as listen to the tunes my parents loved. Even though you haven't asked, my favorite musician is definitely Bob Dylan! I'm well versed in sports having grown up playing and now watching as much as I can. I find I can talk to a lot of students about sports to make a connection. I consider myself most invested in baseball and soccer. I pride myself on my kindness, try to be funny and, most of all, teach as well as I can.
