I earned my M.P.A. degree in Public and Non-Profit Management at NYU Wagner with a specialization in Public Policy Analysis. I have extensive professional communications experience and have tutored students of all ages in writing across various academic subjects.
I have also advised and mentored students applying to college and graduate school. I was admitted and awarded scholarships to schools including Harvard University, Cornell University, New York University and Fordham University. I scored 6 of 6 on the GRE Writing Section. I also hold a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Social and Public Policy from New York University.
About the Tutoring Services:
I absolutely love to teach and I want to provide my clients with the resources they need to succeed. Whether it’s discussing how to strengthen a research paper or writing a personal statement for graduate school, I want to be there every step of the way!
Who do you have experience working with?
• Elementary school students
• Middle school students
• High school students
• Undergraduate students
• Graduate students
• Out of school adults
I also work with both ESL and international university students to not only work through the writing assignment at hand, but also through language barriers to improve written and verbal speech over time.
What can you help me with?
I can provide assistance with any type of writing—just ask! I’ll be glad to accommodate your request. I typically assist elementary school students with essays and homework assignments. I work with middle and high school students on short papers and research projects. I assist undergraduate and graduate students with response papers, thematic papers, research papers, presentations etc. I’ve also helped recent graduates and out of school adults revise their resume and write effective cover letters.
What do we review during our meeting?
When you don’t know where to start, we work on paper, essay or project ideas, as well as initial research. When you provide me with a rough draft of your work, I provide detailed comments and feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Then, we work together to craft the paper’s language, organization and content.
What should I have prepared?
You should try your best to provide a draft of your work about 24 hours in advance of our meeting. The earlier you’re able to send your paper or assignment, the more feedback I can provide. If applicable, you should provide the primary text(s) used. Major research sources should be cited and accessible for the reader of your paper. Also, you’re encouraged to bring a hard copy or your laptop with your draft.
How long are the tutoring sessions?
My tutoring sessions are approximately one hour, though more time is allotted based on the length or difficulty of the task at hand.
Where to you hold these sessions?
I can work with you in person at an agreed upon location, such as your home, near your university campus or other local meeting place.
Is it necessary to meet in person?
If you’re unable to meet in person, I can work with you via e-mail, FaceTime, Skype, or Google video chat (Hangouts).
Do you work with students outside New York City?
Yes. I’m the NYC Writing Tutor & Consultant, but that doesn’t mean that you have to live here to request help. Any of the above online platforms allow me to work with clients beyond New York City.
What is your rate?
I am committed to providing affordable services to my clients. I believe that everyone should have access to such resources, which is why I have a flat rate, not an hourly rate. In other words, if I work on your paper for 3-4 hours before our meeting, you don’t pay for that.
I also provide ongoing support free of charge. I am available by phone or e-mail should you have questions after our meeting. I can also review a second or final draft of your work before submission.
Please contact me for a quote. The rate may only vary depending on the length of the paper or difficulty of the content.
How do you accept payment?
I accept payment in cash or through PayPal.
